Although I enjoy working with children and adolescents of all ages and concerns, I have a special interest and additional training in treating the following areas:
Anxiety Disorders
Behavioral Concerns and Parenting Skills
Life Transitions and Stressors
Depression
College Mental Health
Grief and Loss
LGBTQIA+ Support
Interpersonal Difficulties
Trauma (16+ Only)
My approach is informed by relational attachment, developmental trauma, somatic, ecological, behavioral, and mindfulness theories. I have specialized training in Child-Adult Relationship Enhancement (CARE), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
I believe clients should have both active minds and bodies throughout the therapy process. During office-based and virtual sessions, I often engage clients in mindfulness, play, and somatic based relaxation exercises. I have also found that many young people feel more comfortable walking side-by-side and talking in the fresh air. Therefore, I offer walk and talk therapy and am able to meet you at your favorite hiking trail or playground for our session.
